Welcome to the home of Football Club 77, a men's soccer club devoted to the enjoyment of soccer. FC77 was formed in 1977 in Portland Oregon. Over 39 years later this miscellaneous collection of soccer buffs has grown into six teams.
Our purpose: Playing and supporting the sport of soccer and good fellowship. Our six teams span Over 30 through Over 58 age divisions and a wide range of play from the serious, to the ridiculous. On these pages you'll find separate team pages, schedules, game reviews, other soccer links, information if you're interested in trying out for a team and our newsletter. Explore and if you enjoy soccer, you're among friends.
World Club Rankings
January 27, 2019. Yes, the obvious question- Where is FC77 Rangers or Bollocks on the list? Well we can't tell you that; they're somewhere below #628 Notts County. The statistical blog site, FiveThirtyEight has released their annual ranking of the male football teams of the world for you to disagree with. Portland Timbers came in at #297; Timbers 2 came in at #540.
Design Your Team Shirt
January 9, 2019. To kill time before Winter Season gets underway- drive your team manager crazy by proposing unrealistic alternate kit ideas. This site wants to sell you team shirts, but does have a cool shirt designer online tool with which you can create, say, a River Plate version (above) of the FC77 jersey.
Board Meeting Highlights...
November 12, 2018. Your FC77 Board met and discussed many highly technical matters that only team managers must truely care about. Nonetheless, a couple of selected highlights might be of interest to the general readers of this website:
Brian Gaffney continues on as the Club Treasurer. The newly instituted position of Vice President was filled by Sean Ingersoll, who also double-dips as Club Secretary.
It was agreed that the summer Athletic Cup gathering (which was on hiatus for summer 2018) will be the focus of Club-wide planning for 2019. Manager Andy Groeneveld will head up planing for next summer's get-together.
In conjunction with a renewal of the Athletic Cup for 2019, the Club will reach out to our old friends at the Montessori Earth School to see if modestly extended field usage can be arranged.
With the addition of the FC77 Ajax team, managed by Andy Groeneveld, the Club is currently composed of seven teams ranging from Over 30 to the Over 58 bracket.
Wear The Brand
April 13, 2018. We know you've got a
Valeri Timbers kit for home matches. How about an
authentic FC77 Brian Karasti or Roy Thompson shirt to
remind you of the Club good times?
The Social Network
For those who think web sites and even blogs are hopelessly old fashioned, FC77 also has a Facebook page. Mark Zuckerberg will be so pleased!

"We’re the one percenters, man — the ones who don’t fit and don’t care. So don’t talk to me about your field fees and your red cards — I mean you get your woman and your bike and your screw-ins and I mean you're on your way.
|We’ve punched our way out of a hundred rumbles, stayed alive with our boots and our fists. We’re royalty among soccer clubs, baby."|
